Machine Operator Guidelines
“A” Level:
- “B” Level guidelines plus
- Trade school certificate, significant experience or apprenticeship preferred
- Has thorough understanding of GD&T and can teach others
- Proficient at completing complex…no supervision and can train others
- Proficient at diagnosing tooling and programming problems.
- Has ability to read and recommend programming edits efficiently
- Quality Rating of 98% or higher must be maintained
- Can train and direct other machinists and set-up operators.
- Set-up and troubleshoot most complex jobs.
- Work with supervisors and engineering to discuss process improvements, work-holding solutions , cycle time improvements, etc.
- Willing to learn and likes challenges of ultraprecision machining
“B” Level:
- Proficient at using all precision measuring equipment
- Understand and interpret mechanical blueprints with little or no guidance.
- Has basic understanding of GD&T
- Proficient at completing simple set-ups with no supervision
- Has ability to read and interpret basic programming
- Has ability to make offsets and touch off tools
- Quality Rating of 98% or higher must be maintained
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completes basic to medium complexity set-ups, makes offsets, changes tools, troubleshoots basic problems on CNC and manual equipment.
- Follows all safety standards and company quality procedures.
- Willing to learn and seeks learning opportunities
“C” Level:
- 0 to few years of Machining Experience
- Proficient at using basic precision measuring equipment
- Has basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Can understand and interpret mechanical blueprints with basic guidance
- Has ability to make offsets and touch off tools
- Quality Rating of 98% or higher must be maintained
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completes basic set-ups, makes offsets, changes tools, troubleshoots basic problems on CNC and manual equipment with minimal supervision.
- Follows all safety standards and company quality procedures.
- Willing to learn and seeks learning opportunities as knowledge increases
Internships:
Thaler Machine Company LLC considers internships of qualified technical school and/or College students. Attendance, willingness to learn and self-motivation is required. Instructor recommendation is requested.
